As a Front End Developer yyou will be working within a fast-paced team to build and scale Kit and Ace’s emerging Ecommerce platform. You’ll work closely with the in-house Technical Project Manager and play a starring role in building innovative digital features. You’re passionate about creating incredible online experiences, new programming technologies excite you, and you bring an optimistic attitude your coding projects. The changes you make and ideas you bring to life will directly impact the experience of our guests

  • Work closely with project management, design, and other engineering team members to develop and deliver against the roadmap
  • Serve as an in-house developer, collaborating cross-functionally to bring eCommerce visions to life
  • Understand and manage complex Shopify solutions, including the Theme Structure and other SaaS platforms including Gorgias, Loop, Okendo, Dynamic Yield, Rise, etc.
  • Manage and maintain omnichannel integrations across the Shopify App ecosystem
  • Develop new features and implement the prioritized application backlog
  • Develop conversion and feature optimization tests to improve the KPIs driving site and business performance
  • Work closely with the PM, E-comm operations, and other business partners to translate and implement new designs and interactive front-end experiences and ensure the feasibility of UI designs
  • Translate technical requirements and mockups into fully functioning sites using HTML/CSS/JS, including React and Shopify Liquid
  • Assist Project/Product Managers with solutions development and approaches to achieve new business requirements
  • Develop and improve online experiences across brand groups with up-to-date eCommerce best practices for mobile and desktop
  • Ad hoc technical support, testing on releases
  • Develop and maintain the website style guide. Ensure all site elements are consistent with style guide and meet usability and accessibility best practices
  • Flexible and like to have FUN
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional development experience
  • Proven track record and examples of experience developing in Shopify using Liquid
  • Strong proficiency in writing modern front-end JavaScript, including experience working with Vue.js or React and configuring JavaScript tooling.
  • Proven track record and examples of experience using front end languages supported by Shopify (ie. HTML, CSS/SASS, JavaScript/jQuery, Shopify Liquid)
  • A deep understanding of using Shopify’s various public APIs
  • Familiarity with third-party software within the Shopify application ecosystem.
  • Experience building high-quality, responsive layouts with smooth interactions, transitions, and animations
  • Proficiency in working with version control systems
  • Fluency in interpreting and working with third-party APIs
  • Awareness of web performance best-practice, development for accessibility, and SEO
  • Experience with cross-browser and device testing websites
  • Proficiency in extracting assets from Creative (e.g., PSD, XD, INDD, and AI files)
  • Experience working within agile environments including Scrum / Kanban
  • Experience building ADA compliant web builds
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion For Design – capable of understanding and creating and leveraging modern design practices in builds where creativity is otherwise not provided
  • Experience in one of the following tools: Sketch, Figma, Axure, Invision, or Adobe XD
  • Proficient in setting up development and staging environments
  • Proficient in using and altering MySQL databases
  • Familiarity with domain management and DNS records
  • Team player with ability to work alone, with self-starter abilities to prioritize demands and manage expectations
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field would be a nice to have
