When It's Too Good for Just One Night 

Ten editors from around the world join Kit and Ace for a taste of west coast life, on the Three Night Stand.

Editors from some of the world’s top magazines – ELLE US and ELLE Australia, Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, Gear Patrol, W Magazine, Men’s Health, The Telegraph, InStyle and Esquire UK – were invited to spend three days on the west coast, immersed in the mindful vibes, beautiful scenery and tasty fare the area is known for. Here’s a recap of our Three Night Stand.

Day 1

With only 72 hours on the docket, there was no time to waste. The group checked into Vancouver’s Rosewood Hotel Georgia and were greeted with welcome packages and flowers from Celsia Floralist. Soon after, they were whisked away to our Gastown showroom for cocktails and a private photo op with The Collective You. The crew put on their best faces for the personal and group portraits before sitting down for a Kit and Ace Supper Club.

While feasting on spiced chicken, mesquite smoked Lois Steelhead trout and white chocolate tofu – all prepared by chef Jeff Koop – the group broke the ice with a game of Real Talk, where questions like “What three songs would be on the soundtrack of your life?” revealed some surprises. When dinner guests break out into The Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song you know the night has been a success.

Day 2

The crew took a water taxi to Granville Island for eats at Edible Canada before stopping by Kit and Ace HQ for a behind-the-scenes look at the brand. Next it was off to the Vancouver Art Gallery to deep dive into the latest exhibition, Mashup: The Birth of Modern Culture

 After they they got their cultural fill, it was off to the West 4th showroom where Kit and Ace co-founder and Head of Design Shannon Wilson explained our completely fresh approach to technical design and retail.

Evening brought a second Supper Club, this one at the atmospheric Union Wood Co. with food from award-winning chef David Gunawan of The Farmer’s Apprentice. The warm night, combined with twinkling lights draped over the proceedings, made for magic.

Day 3

The group boarded a Harbour Air sea plane and took flight to a private residence on the Sunshine Coast. It was the perfect setting for the day’s task: goal-setting and a guided mindfulness session.



For lunch, the group was treated to a menu created by chef Juno Kim, highlighting best of the west coast: salmon, oysters and locally-sourced roasted veggies – great fuel for a west coast nature walk.

After another quick flight, the group got together for a final dinner at Minami, one of Vancouver’s finest sushi spots (seriously, go try the Aburi sushi. We’ll wait). During the last supper, it was clear that after three days, the group was no longer a mix of disparate strangers, but instead comrades and friends.

Not bad for just three nights, right?
