Known for its energy and historic landmarks, London’s West End can seem overwhelming on a typical day, but it’s possible to find calm amongst the chaos. With iconic names like Soho, Covent Garden, Buckingham Palace and Regent Street, this central neighbourhood buzzes from day to night, both with shoppers on a mission and locals decompressing over a cocktail. We escaped the typical tourist traps and curated our four favourite spots to spend a morning – preferably on the weekend – in the heart of London.

9:00 AM

Step into Soho Grind for a morning pick-me-up. Order a long black from the 12-option coffee menu and enjoy an almond croissant in the rustic, New York-style atmosphere. Resist the urge to head downstairs – the underground cocktail bar opens later in the day, so save the Grind Espresso Martini for later.

The best way to kick-start your day is to get moving. Hop on a bike at Psycle spin studio for a one-hour burn designed to fit within your schedule. Break a sweat listening to a handpicked playlist and slow your heart rate afterwards with a natural, superfood-loaded drink at the Energy Kitchen. Our pick: the No Resistance smoothie.

Fresh air can do wonders and Soho Square Gardens is the perfect way to clear your mind. Escape the crowds of Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square for a slice of greenery amidst the historic London architecture. Sit on the grass if it’s a warm day (it's a hotspot for lunches), admire the mock-Tudor building in the middle of the square or work it into your running route for a change of scenery.

2:30 PM

Berwick Street Market

Address: Berwick Street, London, UK

Mon–Sat 8AM–6 PM

Distance from our Regent Street shopa seven-minute walk

Get a head start on your grocery list with a visit to one of London’s oldest markets. Offering everything from fresh produce and household goods to flower stands and vintage finds, this market has what you’re looking for. There’s also a clutch lineup of lunch spots – give the roasted beetroot and quinoa salad at Savage Salads a try.
