A Grade-eh Canada Day in Cape Cod, MA

To celebrate our nation we brought Canadian flavour to our southern neighbours.

Canadians aren't known for our overt patriotism, but once a year we give ourselves permission to go a little Canada crazy.

On July 1 we celebrate the constitution that united three colonies (the Province of Canada, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick) into a single dominion. Yup, a dominion. The Dominion of Canada.

How do we do it? We whip out our sunglasses, grab some friends, fire up the BBQ, light fireworks and sing a rendition of Oh, Canada to varying degrees of harmony. The difference this year? We celebrated on the Cape.

It's not every day we have the pleasure of cheering our home nation abroad, so we brought along steamies (hot dogs with a Canadian passport) from the Doggz & Hoggz food truck, icy Molson Canadians and some Canadian jams. We set them against the backdrop of our Eh-Frame pop-up – a mobile a-frame structure that's bringing a splash of Canadiana to Cape Cod for the full month of July.

No matter what side of the border, Canada is always worth celebrating.
