There are certain things that make Vancouver quintessentially West Coast – like foggy days, snowy peaks and glistening ocean vistas or crowded beaches and breathtaking moments on the Seawall. We invited six photographers, whose images capture some of the city’s best angles, to showcase their work at our Portrait of a City event in Vancouver's Railtown district.

Photographers Andrew Querner, Ben Giesbrecht, Britney Gill, Cody Briggs, Jennilee Marigomen and Tristan Casey installed their work around a custom double-size Supper Club table at the Settlement Building. Surrounded by their work, attendees revelled in a globally inspired menu designed by Andrew Hunslow, executive chef of Belgard Kitchen. Guests (including the artists themselves) took part in a super-sized rendition of Real Talk as the wine flowed.

The next night, over 200 locals attended the show, where they were encouraged to “walk into” projected images of the photographers’ work in a repurposed shipping container. Portrait of a City celebrated both local artists and some of Vancouver’s most classic coastal moments.
